It won’t be easy to sum up one of the most beautiful weeks of my life but I’ll do my best!
Having little expectations, I booked this trip on faith, drawn only by years of following Habiba on socials and witnessing glimpses of Zanzibar’s beauty online. But from the very first day I realised I made the best decision ever!
Thanks to Habiba and Kamila our Escape to Zanzibar girls trip was perfect from start to finish. Everything was so meticulous. From the timing of activities to ensure we fully immersed ourselves in Zanzibar’s rich culture like guided tours of Prison Island and the narrow walk paths of stone town which were covered in Intricately carved wooden doors and coral stone. Right down to the choices of locations. DT Beachfront Villas was romantic, whimsical and homely. Sharing one villa between two, it allowed for connections to be made and best believe connections were made! Unbreakable bonds that allowed us to transition even when we travelled to our second location, Kikoi Boutique Hotel which felt like paradise and gave us a bit more independence with each of us having our own stand alone rooms.
Zanzibar is known as one of the most beautiful destinations in the world. It’s crystal clear blue waters and white sandy beaches. I felt so lucky to have had the kind hearted Kamila, a born and raised Zanzibarian to share and teach her country/language with us. The polepole mindset, the kindness of people, the history of Zanzibar and how the island is for her perspective. We are so grateful to Kamila for allowing us to have a deeper sense of Zanzibar compared to regular travellers.
Habiba was truly amazing, my admiration for her grew even more. This trip being only her first, was beautiful. The small details definitely didn’t go unnoticed. Habiba was so quick to be flexible and accommodating even when plans changed. Amongst the stress of it all, her priority always remained the same, had we eaten? were we safe? And were we happy?
Habiba and Escape to Zanzibar didn’t just offer us a holiday, they gave us community, sisterhood, friendship, knowledge, life experiences, an opportunity of growth, memories to cherish, laughter, and so much more! We’ve all left Zanzibar with tears in your eyes, a colourful camera roll and friendships for life!
Like they say… Hukuna Matata when in Zanzibiar! 🌺🌴

Escape to Zanzibar testimony🇹🇿🌺
Like many of the girls, I booked this trip purely on my faith in Habiba and the glimpses she shares online. Visiting Zanzibar has been a dream of mine since secondary school, when a Tanzanian friend posted the most stunning photo of the beach back in 2011. From that moment, I was in love and knew I had to see it for myself one day. I never imagined I’d visit in this way, and honestly, I wouldn’t change it for the world.
Before the trip, I told myself: “I’m here to explore the country. If I get along with the girls, amazing and if not, I’ll still enjoy my time.” But what I didn’t expect was how quickly real bonds would form. From the very first day, it felt like we had known each other for years. The laughter, the jokes, the way we uplifted one another, I haven’t felt so light, happy, or laughed this much in a very long time. That energy made the whole experience even more magical. The truth is, the entire trip was a highlight. Every single day taught me something new and beautiful. The people of Zanzibar, the land, nature, and culture left a lasting mark on me, from the smiles of the locals to the beauty of the beaches, the wildlife in the forests, and the centuries-old traditions, everything felt alive and full of heart.
The fact that I cried the way I did at our goodbye dinner, and felt such a heaviness when leaving, a feeling that still lingers now that I’m back is a true testament to how much I loved this experience. This trip showed me that taking a leap of faith and trusting the unknown can bring the greatest blessings. It reminded me that sisterhood, when it’s nurtured with love and sincerity, is powerful enough to heal the soul.
✨ Thank you Habiba and Kamila for organising one of the best trips yet! Your calm auras, good vibes, and thoughtfulness made everything seamless. Kemy, thank you for keeping us together, from head counts to haggling for us in the markets of Stone Town. Habiba, thank you for always checking in, making sure we were comfortable, happy and bringing your warm, personable energy. You’re truly a beautiful soul inside and out, and it made me feel so at ease the entire time.

To say this trip was life-changing would be an understatement. Between the belly-aching laughter, nights that stretched into music and dancing, turquoise waters that shimmered like liquid glass, the sweet, sun-warmed fruits and the people of Zanzibar who welcomed us so warmly, the stories, the joy and the sisterhood we shared will stay with me for the rest of my life.
Habiba and Kemy welcomed me with open arms and made me – and every single one of the girls – feel at home from the very first day. Habiba’s warm, charismatic nature has a way of instantly putting you at ease, with her contagious laugh and effortless confidence helping us bond in such a natural, meaningful way. It was clear she poured her heart and soul into this trip, each meticulous detail a reflection of her dedication to making it special for us. Kemy felt like an older sister to me; by sharing her stories and educating us on her culture, I found myself falling in love with her country even more. From decorating our outfits with frangipani flowers to swimming side by side in the sea, to losing ourselves in the vibrant maze of Stone Town, each little moment with her gave me a sense of ease and belonging that felt all the more precious while travelling in a completely new place. Both Habiba and Kemy continually checked in on me to ensure I was comfortable, nourished and happy, so I felt like I could approach them about anything and be listened to without judgement. Their organisation was impeccable; even when plans had to change, they guided us calmly and assuredly, creating an atmosphere that felt less like a tour and more like a family.
The excursions were beyond incredible and completely exceeded my expectations. From diving into crystal-clear waters to quad biking through verdant forests and villages, each day was rich with adventure yet felt beautifully balanced, with enough time in the evenings to unwind or make more memories together. I felt safe throughout, knowing they worked with trusted companies and supported local Tanzanian businesses that uplifted the community.
Both hotels were spectacular in their own ways: DT Beachfront Villas was unforgettable, with the kindness and energy of the staff set against the glittering sea, while Kikoi Boutique Hotel gave us the most magical farewell dinner, filled with dancing, laughter and emotion. What I especially appreciated was that we were not sheltered behind luxurious resort walls, but we were immersed in Zanzibari culture from the very first day, so I felt that I was able to truly connect with the people of Zanzibar and even practise my very basic Swahili!
What made this experience truly exceptional for me was the sisterhood. Habiba offered far more than a holiday; she created a celebration of women from all over the world coming together in the most beautiful, authentic way. We bonded instantly, in a way that almost felt timeless, as if we had known each other for years. In such a nurturing, empowering space, I found myself healing in ways I had not realised I needed. I rediscovered freedom, lightness and a renewed joy for life – all because I felt safe, seen and celebrated within this remarkable group of girls. The friendships I have gained are ones I will cherish for life, so I am immensely grateful to Habiba, Kemy and the rest of the team for making that possible.
I really do feel like I have left a piece of my soul in Zanzibar. I am in awe of how effortlessly and beautifully this trip unfolded and I hope, one day, to be lucky enough to experience such magic once again.
